Steve DeStefano was born and raised in Philadelphia.  He eventually migrated to the suburban life and his songs reflect much of that journey and life's transitions that accompany it.  Many of his tracks from his first recording ,“Rat Race” are from different periods during his career in music.  Sometimes autobiographical, sometimes just in fictitious character, Steve’s songs are melodic, catchy and just plain fun.

His most popular songs include: Jane and Rules (both from Rat Race), My TV Show (instrumental), Stay Awake, and Six Degrees. Steve was also a member of the band Retread Willie and co-wrote and produced their album, Burnin' Rubber.
